The Spetton ALS is one of the best well thought-out guns on
the market. From the tip to the butt end the ALS screams to be tried and tested. For
starters, the 6.5mm shaft comes with a double barb for better holding power.
Just in front of the barbs is a "ramp" of sorts that will help
with hydrodynamics and prevent fish scales or the flesh of the fish from becoming
stuck on the barbs causing them to stay shut so the fish can wiggle off the spear.
Next, the spear shaft incorporates bent "pins" to attach the
rubber bands for better holding strength, added strength to the shaft due to
less metal being cut away as with grooved shafts, and the ability to use line
or rope wish bones instead of metal for additional stealth.
The
ALS Open Muzzle is very unique and considerate. Like many open-muzzle guns, the
ALS muzzle requires the shooting line to wrap over the spear shaft and muzzle
to hold the spear shaft in place, but the ALS muzzle allows the user to wrap
the line over either side. Continuing with the line, the user will notice a stout,
metal line release which has been machined to a smooth finish like no other on
the market. Under the muzzle is a removable heavy-duty polished metal shackle
to attach your bungee/swivel to or to run your reel line through with assurance
it will handle just about anything.
Two (2)
18mm Rubber Bands complement the numerous options the Spetton ALS gun already
comes with. The bands can be added or taken off the muzzle while the spear shaft
is in place. The comfortable handle is like
the drivers seat in a luxury car, it just makes you want to stay there. Like
the grip, the butt end is made from a gummy-soft material that stays comfortably
wherever you place it for loading. It's no longer a painful event to load your
gun. All this wrapped up in a Aluminum barrel makes for a very light-weight,
powerful, ergonomic and economical speargun. |
